🌽 Recipe at a Glance

Prep time: 15 minutes
Grill time: 20–28 minutes
Serves: 4

🛒 What You'll Need

  • 4 ears fresh sweet corn, choosing good-quality ears with pale silk that doesn't look dried out
  • 2 tablespoons salted or unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons Super Mirchi Hot Sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

🔥 Let's Get Grilling

  1. Peel back and remove the husks, then remove the silk strands from each ear of corn.
  2. Preheat a gas grill over medium-high heat to about 450°F. Brush the grill grates clean.
  3. Use a basting brush to coat each ear with softened butter. Season with salt and pepper, then wrap each ear tightly in aluminum foil.
  4. Place the wrapped corn on the preheated grill, leaving space between the ears. Close the lid and grill for 15–20 minutes, turning occasionally.
  5. Carefully remove the foil, watching for hot steam. Return the corn to the grill and char on all sides for another 5–8 minutes, turning as needed. The kernels should be tender when pierced with a paring knife.
  6. Transfer the corn to a serving dish. With a clean basting brush, spread the Super Mirchi Hot Sauce evenly over all four ears. Serve and enjoy!

🏠 No Grill? Try the Oven

Prepare and wrap the corn as above, then place it on a baking sheet in a preheated 400°F oven. Check after 10 minutes and continue baking as needed until the kernels are tender; cooking time varies with the size and freshness of the ears. Carefully unwrap, transfer to a serving dish, and brush with Super Mirchi Hot Sauce. This version won't have the same grill marks, but it still brings the sweet-and-spicy flavor.

✨ A Few A-maize-ing Facts

  • Sweet corn lives up to its name: It's harvested while the kernels are still tender, before they mature and dry.
  • Silk has a job: Each strand connects to a potential kernel and plays a role in pollination. Those wispy threads are more than decoration!
  • Char adds contrast: A little browning gives the sweet kernels a deliciously toasty edge. Turn the ears regularly so they char rather than burn.

🌿 Goodness Behind the Kernels

Corn provides fiber to support digestive health, along with carbohydrates for energy. Yellow corn also contains lutein and zeaxanthin, plant pigments associated with eye health. Butter adds richness, so use the measured amount and season to taste. If you're watching sodium, choose unsalted butter and go lightly on added salt.

💡 Sweet Corn, Your Way

Brush on the sauce after cooking for a bold finishing flavor. Prefer a gentler kick? Start with less Super Mirchi Hot Sauce and add more to taste. Serve with grilled vegetables, your favorite entrée, or plenty of napkins for a gloriously hands-on snack.

Sweet, buttery, and just spicy enough to keep things interesting. That's corn with a Mirchi attitude!
